I moved to Moscow, Idaho at the age of 16 after having spent the previous ten years in the Republic of Texas. I spent most of the next six years in sunny Moscow and I graduated from Moscow High, I went on exchange to The Basque Country, and I earned my BA in Spanish.
The two years immediately after college were passed mostly in Tucson, Arizona and Stanley, Idaho trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. When I decided to become a teacher I moved back up north and took as many Spanish classes as I could while earning my teaching certificate.
I came to Boise to student teach at South Jr. High and Borah High and was offered a job at Capital. I am in my nineteenth year as an Eagle and couldn't be happier.
My wonderful wife is also bilingual, and we have one daughter who is learning Spanish in a dual-immersion third grade class.
I spend my free time camping in my Volkswagen Vanagon, listening to music, playing the guitar, riding my bike, reading literary fiction and comic books, and skiing.
